The Medical Technology Student is responsible for performing, under supervision, technical laboratory procedures on neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient specimens to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Procedures are performed in the assigned Laboratory section, such as Bacteriology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Diagnostic Immunology, Hematology or Toxicology. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
- Possession of a current student work permit and completion of the clinical rotation for the assigned laboratory area in an accredited medical technology program (undergraduate or post-graduate).
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as laboratory reports.
- Normal eye-motor coordination, manual dexterity and visual perception.
- Ability to communicate verbally with Associates and physicians.
